I began piano lessons later than most. Some might say 8 years old is too late to be any good at piano, but I am living proof that hard work beats talent. Studying piano has built my confidence, self-discipline, and has been a lifelong outlet of joy. This is why I teach. Since 2020, I have taught in music programs around the greater Seattle area, helping to inspire the appreciation of music to students of every grade level, because I believe anyone can create music at any age. My mission as a piano instructor is to build students up as musicians. Since 2020, I have worked in various learning settings with students ages 5-18 and subsequently been exposed to numerous methods. My conclusion: lessons should not be one-size-fits-all. I love to "gameify" learning where I can, and add supplemental material to the curriculum I use to engage each student and their unique interests and abilities while ensuring they do not miss fundamental concepts in technique and artistry.
